When Tayson was a toddler, he called Grandpa by the name of Bampa, and in my mind, the name stuck.
A few weeks ago, my dad took his migratory journey from his Phoenix home to his Bear Lake home. My mom was not with him because she was in Spokane, helping my sister with her new baby. My dad paused on his journey to take my little family, along with my brother and his wife, out to dinner at Cracker Barrel. It was great to see my dad again, and the food was delicious, but the highlight of the evening for the kids was playing on the little rocking chairs that lined the front porch.

The following morning, before my Dad left, he took Tayson to Target for some birthday shopping. Tayson chose some Star Wars toys (shocker, I know), among them a brand new light saber. He has another one that he received for Christmas, but it is a little too heavy for him to play with for more than a minute or so. This one is more lightweight, and he loves it. He tried it out on Grandpa before taking it outside to battle it out with our neighbor, Phoenix. Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa!
