There was the cake, provided by Grandma:
There were presents for both 'kids':
There was cake-eating by all:
(the first swipe-and-taste)
(really getting into it now)
And then there was a bath for Brennen by necessity:
It was a great day, from start to finish. I can't believe my baby is 1 (actually, now he is 13+ months). Everything seemed to happen at once; the transition from baby to toddler seemed almost instantaneous rather than gradual. When he was 11 months old, he was toothless, crawling (trying to take one or two steps, though), drinking formula out of a bottle, riding in a rear-facing infant seat, and had a head full of wispy baby hair. At 12 months, he was walking everywhere, drinking cows' milk out of a sippy cup, had 4 teeth, was riding in a front-facing car seat, and had received his first hair cut. My baby seemed to disappear, and a little boy took his place. At least he's a cute little boy that I love so much!
